On Fathers’ Day, June 16, 2019, members of the Canadian West Region of the Porsche Club of America (PCA-CWR) will hold their annual Show and Ride fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis in Dundarave Village in West Vancouver.

First held in 2006 and with support from local and corporate sponsors, this is a fun, low-key, community-based charitable event that raises money for medical research to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis, a deadly genetic disease affecting mainly children and young adults across Canada.

While the inaugural 2006 event attracted around 60 Porsches of various models and years, in  recent years  as many as 120 Porsches have been registered for the event as the event proved  to be instantly successful both with the PCA-CWR membership and members of public who turned out in large numbers, especially when the weather was cooperating!

This is a rain or shine event, and  while the middle of June can be a fickle time for the weather gods, to date – as we are about to embark on the 14th annual  running of this event – we have never been rained-out.  There were a number of time that it threatened to, but other than a brief shower or two, we have been extremely fortunate in that department.
